Thank you for being a tutor for RVC's GCSE attainment project. 

We are hugely grateful for your time. 


We are working with 2 schools; Onslow St Audrey in Hatfield, and Beacon High School in Holloway. Our pilot year was 23-24 and we are now in our second year. 


These schools were chosen because they are 

a) demonstrating through metrics that there is considerable value to be added for GCSE results

b) close to one of our campuses


Here you can find resources for teaching, and for researching the level of knowledge required for Edexcel and AQA Combined Science. Each school has the majority of pupils studying this course, however one group per school has triple science students. 


As a reminder, our results last year were: 


·Approx 23% of Onslow students passed their y10 mock, but 47% passed their final exams.

89% did better (56%) or the same (33%) compared to their year 10 mocks.

 

·7% of Beacon students passed their y10 mock, but 17% passed their final exams.

78% did better (60%) or the same (18%) compared to their y10 mocks.

The context is that Beacon students were missing their science teacher in the exam term, and instead had trainees.

•In both schools, self reported Metacognition (the skills required to learn) scores increased throughout the programme

We are looking forward to improving on these results this term.
